You'll may also have to fiddle with them to connect the whole system together. While these should fit they most likely wont be as quiet as the factory exhaust, but they should be less restrictive and give you a good balance between tolerable noise level and perfomance. minus the additional midpipe shown in the photo. Walker Quiet-Flow SS Muffler features a 100 stainless steel construction,Precision fit, superior flow and OE-style sound and performance,Fits like OE. I'm just going on the fact that they seem to connect to the factory exhaust in the same location (around the second, useless, cross bar/support for tunnel) right where the factory slip joint is.

Manufactured in both steel and stainless steel versions, their turbo-style configuration provides great interior and exterior sound control without decreasing exhaust flow. I'm not sure if you would need to weld it in or if you could use good quaility clamps (like the ones with the Rawtek pipe).but you would need a pipe after the resonator to bolt to the rest of the exhaust, factory or aftermarket.
#Quiet 3 muffler install
Or you could always try contacting Darkside and see if they know more about the Milltek system.Ĭlick to expand. That resonator should fit but it would obviously become a custom install at that point. If the gasser and TDI exhausts both bolt up on the same cat-back location I would assume you could use a system designed for a gasser, but I cant verify if the TDI and FSI cat-backs both bolt up in the same location. I know the Rawtek exhaust is designed to bolt up to any TDI cat-back exhaust with the adapter (from 3 inch to 2.25 inch).

What I would suggest is either buying the resonator from Rawtek and swapping out the straight pipe and running a Milltek exhaust, or trying to fit the resonated Milltek system for the FSI engine or a similar gasser exhaust from another manufacturer to the Rawtek downpipe.

But, as I said, its designed for the FSI engine. They sell it resonated and non resonated systems both with a muffler. What Darkside Developments does is they run a similar 3 inch non resonated system into a Milltek Sports exhaust designed for the 2.0T FSI Jetta. which if you prefer silence I would assume you would find annoying (I've since gotten used to it). It is admittedly a little loud and it does raise the cabin noise a little. Adding in the Rawtek system removes most of the sound dampening components.Ĭurrently I have a resonated Rawtek system going into a 2.5 inch Borla cat back designed for the TDI so it has no mufflers. In stock form the DPF and numerous cats and muffler all act to quiet the TDI engine. Unfortunately theres not much to make it as quiet as a prius without keeping the stock restrictive mufflers.
